How It Works

If you receive an email that doesn't feel right — maybe it's from a company you recognize but something seems off, or it's asking you to click a link or provide personal information — you can get it checked for free in three simple steps.

Step 1: Forward the email. Open the suspicious email in your email client (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or any other). Click Forward and send it to check@scam.support.

Step 2: Wait for a reply. Within 60 seconds, you will receive a reply with a clear risk assessment. The reply tells you whether the email is likely a scam, what type of scam it is, and what you should do next.

Step 3: Follow the recommendation. If it's a scam, the reply will include specific steps to protect yourself. If it's legitimate, you'll know it's safe.

The service is completely free and works with any email provider. You don't need to create an account, download an app, or provide any personal information. Just forward and we'll check it.

Red Flags

  • The email asks you to click a link to verify your identity or update payment info
  • It creates urgency — your account will be closed, a charge will process, legal action is threatened
  • The sender address doesn't match the company it claims to be from
  • The email arrived unexpectedly about a problem you didn't know existed
  • It asks for personal information like SSN, bank details, or passwords

  • Check your inbox in about 60 seconds for the risk assessment reply

What Happens to Your Email

Your privacy is protected. We analyze the email headers, links, and sender information to assess the risk. We do not store the body of your email — it is processed in memory and discarded. Only metadata and analysis results are retained to help protect others from the same scam.

Tips for Caretakers

If you're setting this up for an elderly parent or family member, the easiest approach is to help them add check@scam.support to their email contacts. You can name the contact something memorable like "Scam Checker" so it's easy to find. Then teach them one simple instruction: "If any email seems suspicious, forward it to Scam Checker before doing anything else."
